PHNOM PENH: The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) has decided to provide 40 “Samdech Techo” scholarships to Cambodian students to study in Thailand. The scholarship announcement was made during the meeting between the Director of Krirk University and member of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Committee, Mr. Krasae Chanawongse, with Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday morning, 20 July, at the Peace Palace.

Mr. Krasae Chanawongse informed Prime Minister Hun Sen that the ADPC has now become an international center which also provides scholarships to Cambodian students. During the meeting, he also requested to meet with the Prime Minister next year as well.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Sen welcomed the progress of the ADPC and instructed Mr. Krasae to meet with the Cambodian Minister of Education, Hangchuon Naron, to select the Cambodian students who will receive scholarships.
